Dr. Keeta Wilborn
Dr. Wilborn earned BSN (1975) and MSN (1983) degrees from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She also earned a PhD in nursing education in 2000 from Georgia State University. Dr. Wilborn practiced as a critical care nurse, nursing supervisor, and clinical nurse specialist in Alabama, Georgia, and Gaza Israel. She began teaching nursing in 1984 in Alabama at a small liberal arts college. Her experience as a nurse educator spans 30 years during which she has been a clinical instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, professor, and director of a nursing program. Currently, Dr. Wilborn is a professor of nursing at Georgia Gwinnett College. In this position, she mentors new faculty and students while serving as an advisor to the Gwinnett Grizzly Bear Association of Nursing Students (GGBANS). Dr. Wilborn remains active in professional organizations, and the focus of her scholarly activities is the scholarship of teaching. She was selected as a Center for Teaching Excellence Faculty Scholar in 2015 and worked closely with GGC faculty scholars to develop and present workshops on Student Motivation and Integrated Learning.
